Wow! Threadbanger found my quilt!
So I wake up on Saturday after sleeping all the way in to 9am, and put on this weeks Threadbanger from my TiVo. And near the end, they start showing off their users projects, and bam! There's the quilt I made for Kyra. That's Threadbangers! Keep up the DIY!
Astonished, I had to watch it again. True, I uploaded the photo to Flickr, and taged it both "quilt" and "threadbanger", that must have been enough to bring it up when they were looking to add quilts to the show. I didn't post a thread about it on their forums until after the I saw the show.
It's my first real Web 2.0 moment, where something I created get put into a completely different context because of a little Creative Commons content. I made the quilt, and then took a photo of it, and then uploaded it (of course under a license that allowed them to use it), and someone else thought it was good enough to reuse.
Needless to say, I was elated the entire day. There is now a small little part of me that will always look at my own content in a slightly wider light.
